Man wounded in Halloween night shooting

WASHINGTON — A man, five homes and seven cars were all struck by bullets in a Halloween night shooting in Severn, Md.

Anne Arundel County Police say they found an 18-year-old man on the ground in the 1900 block of Arwell Court Saturday night with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot.

“This was 10 o’clock at night, there was nobody else out on the street,” Lt. Ryan Frashure told WTOP.  “There weren’t any trick-or-treaters, fortunately.”

Police believe this was a targeted shooting in a geographically tight area.

“It’s not like this individual ran through the neighborhood shooting or any type of a drive-by shooting where they were just randomly shooting homes,” Frashure said.

However, the suspect did fire enough rounds to hit his 18-year-old victim, five homes and seven cars before leaving the scene.  No one inside the homes or cars were affected, with several people not knowing their house was hit.

“Not too many people have been cooperative with detectives so far,” Frashure said, but he says they believe something happened between the victim and the suspect earlier in the day.

Police are looking for a black man standing about six feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds.  They also believe he was wearing dark-colored clothing and was driving a dark-colored SUV.
