UPDATE 5:00 a.m. 8/6/2015: Metro says the station has reopened.
EARLIER: WASHINGTON — Trains were bypassing the Bethesda Metro station Wednesday evening due to a power outage.
A Metro spokeswoman says the power went out around 7:15 p.m. The outage is affecting equipment, lighting, elevators and escalators at the station.
Free shuttle bus service is being provided to and from Medical Center.

Metro says the outage appears to involve a breaker on the main power feed that serves the Bethesda station.
Red Line trains were running on time, but were bypassing the station. Metro has not said when power would be restored.
