66-year-old Fairfax Co. resident shot after being robbed

WASHINGTON — Fairfax County police are investigating a shooting and robbery that happened Saturday night in the 500 block of Kenerson Drive.

Police received a report that a woman, 66, was shot after being robbed.

The woman and a man were coming back home from a night out at the casino when she was grabbed by a suspect at the door, police say. The suspect, described as a black female, took the woman’s purse.

Family members inside the home came out and chased the suspect. The suspect ran to a vehicle, driven by another suspect described as a black male. The victim then ran up to the vehicle as it was driving away, when one of the suspects fired a gun, shooting her in the arm, according to a press release.

The suspects in the vehicle fled the scene.

The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Anyone with information should contact Fairfax County police at 703-691-2131.
