Throughout the month of April, WTOP is highlighting our partnership with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic and Operation Dream Maker, which raises money to fulfill the wishes of the children of our nation’s military heroes diagnosed with critical illnesses.
In 2023, Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic granted 386 wishes to kids across D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Many of these children have parents or guardians who are serving or have served in the military.
In today’s episode of “Matt About Town,” WTOP’s Matt Kaufax talks to an inspiring Virginia fourth grader whose passions include science, math and all things ocean-related!
Meet 9-year-old Isaiah, whose story of perseverance through a liver transplant, and wish to swim with dolphins, will inspire you!
Every year on April 29, World Wish Day celebrates the anniversary of the founding of Make-A-Wish. April is also both the Month of the Military Child and World Wish Month!
