It’s a new D.C. concept you’ll want to raise a glass — or a cone — to.
In today’s episode of “Matt About Town,” WTOP’s Matt Kaufax heads to Tipsy Scoop in Northwest, to try D.C.’s first batch of booze-infused ice cream.
It’s not an ice cream parlor; it’s a “barlour,” and residents lined up around the block to their first taste this past Saturday at the shop’s grand opening.
The space features unique accents with a flavor of D.C. — for example, a painting of the Capitol rotunda as an ice cream cone adorns the wall — and is the first mid-Atlantic location of the New York City-based franchise.
Whether you decide to get vodka-infused raspberry limoncello, vanilla bean bourbon, or the D.C. signature (just in time for bloom season) cherry blossom old fashioned — come along with Matt to find out why guests say it’s hard to a get a lick wrong at this tasty new joint.
