Car Review: Aston Martin’s DBX 707 is an ultra-sporty, high performance, high-priced SUV

Aston Martin is renowned for racing and iconic cars with breathtaking looks and performance. It’s the star that stole the show in a few 007 films over the decades, so the company couldn’t just build a plain SUV. Instead, Aston Martin built the DBX 707 to be as exotic as its cars and now with performance to match.

Aston Martin took the DBX 707 from 540 horsepower to 697hp in 2023. This five-seat, ultraluxury super SUV will give other ultra-sporty SUVs and super cars a real run at the track. The performance is breathtaking — zero to sixty in just over three seconds! This twin turbo V-8 is savage and sounds great at full song.

The DBX 707’s handling impressed me. Treat it like a car and not an SUV on the corners. The limits are much higher than you can legally see on public roads. The humongous carbon ceramic brakes will haul the big SUV down with authority repeatedly without fading. A big benefit of the DBX 707 is that it is easy to drive every day, providing a comfortable commute. Normally, when the rain hits you park the exotic, but all wheel drive makes the DBX a no-drama ride that’s as docile as any other SUV.

The Aston Martin DBX 707 looks fast and exotic. It still has a pretty face even with the blacked-out grill and upgraded, larger 23-inch wheels with tires that will set you back about $1,200 apiece when it comes time to change them. The optional yellow brake calipers highlight the impressive braking system. High style is carried to the back end with spoilers, vents and enough carbon fiber to rival the company’s Formula One car. This Aston Martin is ready for the big screen or the garage of a select few.

The new DBX 707 interior is up to the task for customers who demand the best when spending at least a quarter-million dollars on an SUV (but no ejection seats). The Aston Martin feels more handcrafted and less manufactured than other pricey SUVs I’ve driven. The DBX 707 has a sportier look and feel than the regular DBX. Sport seats up front with very high quality leather, the optional Q Titanium leather and the Inspire Sport Duotone interior dresses it up with three leather colors on the seats. To match the sporty, exotic SUV look, the interior has tons of carbon fiber throughout the cabin and even on the door panels. Unlike other Aston Martins, the DBX 707 fits five people with luggage and can handle a grocery run.
