A riverfront estate on McLean’s Gold Coast that’s been on the market for less than a year has set a sales record for most expensive home in the Virginia city this year.
The eight-bedroom estate, on just over four acres, closed for $14.05 million in April. The property was first listed for $18.5 million last June.
In addition to setting the 2025 record for McLean, it is the second-most expensive sale so far this year in Northern Virginia.
The estate at 1260 Crest Lane is called the “Stratford House” and was built in 1973. The French provincial home includes a mahogany-paneled library, solarium, hand-painted wallpaper in the dining room and multiple terraces. The main suite has two sitting rooms.
The 9,200-square-foot house also has five full baths and two half baths.
It was listed by Piper Yerks and Ben Roth of Washington Fine Properties.
