WASHINGTON — Just last month, Taco Bell introduced its breakfast “biscuit taco.” Now, the fast food chain is eyeing delivery as its next undertaking.
In an interview last month with Nation’s Restaurant News (NRN), Taco Bell CEO Brian Niccol said the company is planning to begin testing a delivery plan in 2015.
“Even though it’s the No. 1 request from consumers, we have to make sure we can give them an experience that’s consistent with Taco Bell, and that’s what we’re working through,” Niccol told NRN. “We have to figure it out, and I can tell you right now we don’t have it figured out.”
Catering is part of the expansion, and is already in testing in the Houston market. Taco Bell also plans to open locations in shipping containers, and other environment-friendly spots designed for urban locations, according to NRN.
