‘Real Housewives’ star details damage done by Lyme Disease

WASHINGTON – One of the stars of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” has opened up about her battle with Lyme Disease, saying that it has left her unable “to read, write, or even watch TV.”

As reported by People, Yolanda Foster has written a blog post titled “I Would Like to Apologize,” in which she explains that her battle with the disease has left her unable to communicate consistently.

“It feels like someone came in and confiscated my brain and tied my hands behind my back to just watch and see life go by without me participating in it,” Foster writes.

People reports that Foster’s Lyme Disease has been only glancingly referred to in the current season of the Bravo show, but Foster writes that she has been battling the disease for three years, adding that “I wasted the first year trying to get diagnosed and spent the next two trying to find a cure. I have gone from the conventional long-term antibiotics to about every holistic protocol there is to offer. Unfortunately, I was only able to get to about a 60% recovery until I relapsed in early December and have not been able to find my way back.”

She expresses frustration that it took her so long to be diagnosed, and that there are vaccines or cures for the disease, which was first identified in 1908.

“Something doesn’t add up here, and I will make it my life mission to figure this out, because nobody deserves to suffer this way in 2015.

“Unfortunately, I am of no use to anyone or anything at this moment while weathering the storm.”
