Police: DC men charged with child sex abuse

WASHINGTON — A sex assault early Tuesday in D.C. has led to child sex abuse charges against two men from Southeast, police said in a news release Saturday.

The incident happened at around 1:15 a.m. Police said the victim was assaulted by two men in the 1700 block of 25th Street Southeast.

Maurice Delonte Dawkins, 21, was arrested Thursday in connection to the incident. Joseph Reginald Ward, 21, was arrested Friday.

Police said Dawkins and Ward were charged with first-degree sex abuse and first-degree child sex abuse.

Court hearings for the men were scheduled for Tuesday, according to court records accessed online.
