Juvenile charged in Anacostia Metro station shooting

WASHINGTON — Metro Transit police arrested and charged a 17-year-old boy Wednesday in connection to the Sunday shooting of a teenage girl at an entrance of the Anacostia Metro station.

The 17-year-old has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, according to Metro Transit police.

The victim was shot in the leg Sunday night and had identified her assailant as an “unknown male.” She had been treated at a hospital for non-fatal injuries.

Although the entrance from the bus bay area had been closed for the investigation, rail and bus services had not been affected.
