Here’s where you should go for National Coffee Day

WASHINGTON — Tuesday, Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day, and many coffee shops around the region are celebrating with freebies, deals and contests.

Bayou Bakery:  Tuesday until 11 a.m., get a drip Counter Culture Coffee for just $1 at both of their locations.

Dunkin Donuts:  Everyone gets a free medium cup of hot or iced Dark Roast coffee on Tuesday. Also, DD Perks Rewards members get a coupon for a free drink any time before the end of the year.  If you enroll in DD Perks on Tuesday, you’ll get coupons good for four free coffees.

Krispy Kreme:  Stop in Tuesday and they’ll give you a free 12-ounce cup of coffee and a free Original Glazed Doughnut. You can also pick up a small iced coffee, latte or mocha for $1.

McDonald’s:  If you’re a teacher, you can pick up a free any size coffee or tea every Tuesday during the school year at participating D.C.-area restaurants.

Original Brooklyn Water Bagel Co.:  Get a free Cold Brewsta with any purchase Tuesday. They’re also offering a 12-oz. hot coffee for $1 Monday-Friday, 11am-3pm only now through Sept. 30.

Peet’s Coffee & Tea:  A free small cup of Major Dickason’s Blend is yours when you buy any artisan baked good, “Simply Oatmeal” or fresh food item Tuesday.

Sheetz:  On Tuesday, get a free cup of their new Sheetz Bros. coffee, which comes in four blends. They’re also giving away free mugs to 150 customers at each location.

Vigilante Coffee Co.:  Buy a cup of coffee or an espresso drink at their roastery in Hyattsville Tuesday. If you see a gold star on the bottom of your cup, you win free coffee for a week.

Wawa:  Come in Tuesday to get a free self-serve hot coffee up to 24 ounces.

Whole Foods Market:  Stores around the area are serving 12-oz. cups of hot brewed coffee for 25 cents through Tuesday.
