DC’s Mason & Rook Hotel to be renovated and rebranded this summer

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts will be the latest brand to launch in the District this summer with the former Kimpton-managed Mason & Rook Hotel, which is undergoing an $8 million renovation and rebrand.

The 178-room Viceroy Washington D.C. at 1430 Rhode Island Ave. NW is billed as a “modern luxury lifestyle” hotel and will feature an all-season, glass-enclosed outdoor patio restaurant and bar, a seasonal rooftop bar and pool, an indoor-outdoor coffee bar concept and more than 5,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The West Hollywood, California-based Viceroy tapped EDG Interior Architecture + Design to compose the hotel’s redesign, which features a gallery with local artists’ works, dining concepts that pay homage to Logan Circle’s jazz heritage and a design scheme with elements unique to the District.
