WASHINGTON — Roy Rogers will feed law enforcement officers for free the week of Aug. 1.
The Frederick, Maryland-based fast food chain says from Aug. 1 to Aug. 7 law enforcement members can get a free combo meal at breakfast, lunch or dinner in appreciation of their service. The offer is in conjunction with Roy Rogers annual Associate Appreciation Week for employees.
Roy Rogers has grown to 53 company-owned and franchised locations in the mid-Atlantic.
Roy Rogers’ goal is to open 25 new restaurants in the next five years. Its most recent opening was in Aspen Hill, its fifth location in Montgomery County.
Roy Rogers has a storied history.
Marriott opened the first Roy Rogers restaurant in 1968 in Falls Church, Virginia. It eventually grew to hundreds of locations before being taken over by Hardee’s Food Systems in 1990.
Plamondon Cos., founded by Pete Plamondon, Sr., who helped develop he Roy Rogers brand for Marriott and taken over by Plamondon’s sons, acquired the Roy Rogers trademark in 2002.
Plamondon Co. directly owns and operates 24 Roy Rogers locations and oversees another 29 franchise operated locations in the mid-Atlantic region.
