Technical Operations/Engineering Assistant

 Chris Cichon joined the WTOP team in November of 2012 as a freelance news assistant after hosting “The Big Chee Show” on ESPN 1300 in Baltimore earlier that year.

Chris accepted a full-time role in technical operations after being with WTOP for less than a year. In that position, his main responsibility is to listen and monitor all of the sound that that hits the airwaves. Secondary obligations include helping in produce “Today on the Hill” with Capitol Hill Correspondent Dave McConnell, monitoring newsfeeds from the Associated Press, CBS and ABC, and working with the meteorologists from our partners at NBC4.

From the Sports desk, Chris anchors reports at :15 and :45 every Saturday morning and participates each Friday on “Redskins Roundtable.”

Hobbies outside of watching and participating in sports include weightlifting, going out to bars and clubs on U Street and watching WWE wrestling.
