9K Arlington voters receive wrong polling place information

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) _ About 9,000 Arlington County voters have received incorrect directions on where to go vote in the Nov. 8 elections because of a mailroom error.

Media outlets report that voters in the Wilson, Crystal City and Abingdon precincts this week received voter cards in their mailboxes that said their normal polling places had changed. This is true, but the cards gave the wrong location for the new polling place.

Arlington County Voter Registrar Linda Lindberg says new, corrected voter cards were being sent out Wednesday along with a letter of apology. She says the error occurred when the county mailroom used the wrong precinct information, incorrectly telling all the voters to go to Lyon Park community center.

The polling-place changes are a result of construction at the normal sites.
