Anne Arundel Co. man charged with killing mother

WASHINGTON — A Millersville, Maryland, man is charged with murder after police believe he killed his mother at the family’s home.

On Saturday afternoon, the Anne Arundel County police received a call from someone who said they just had just spoke with Torian Andrew Mack, 23. The caller told dispatchers that Mack had said that he attacked his mother and that she was unconscious.

Officers were sent to the family’s home, on Daniels Purchase Way in Millersville, and found blood near a back sliding glass door, the police said. The officers went in and found the body of Rhonda Mack-Dickerson, 53, on the floor.

Investigators believe an argument between the two resulted in the deadly attack. The medical examiner found that Mack-Dickerson died of multiple injuries to the head and neck.

According to court records, Mack appeared in Anne Arundel County District Court Monday morning and was denied bond. He is charged with first- and second-degree murder. His next hearing is scheduled for Aug. 6.
