Swimmer’s body recovered in Anne Arundel Co. river

WASHINGTON — The body of an 18-year-old man was recovered in the Little Magothy River in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, Saturday night.

A medical examiner will perform an autopsy on the body of Thomas Christopher Cervasio of Annapolis, according to Maryland’s Natural Resources Police.

Crews were searching for Cervasio on Saturday after he went missing while swimming in the river.

This was the state’s third accidental water death in a week.

Twenty-seven-year-old Robert Claggett Jr. of Indian Head died during a swimming trip Tuesday in the Port Tobacco River near Chapel Point State Park in Charles County.

Forty-nine-year-old Christopher Dettor died July 31 when the motorboat he was on hit a rock jetty at the mouth of Whitehall Creek near Annapolis.
