Prince George’s County elementary school teacher arrested for sexual abuse

WASHINGTON — A Landover, Maryland elementary school teacher has been arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a minor.

Erwin Magnaye, 39, a teacher at William Paca Elementary School, was arrested May 5 by Prince George’s County police.

In February, a 9-year-old boy’s mother contacted authorities to report that her son said his teacher, Magnaye, kissed him in a classroom and, beginning in September of 2014, touched him inappropriately several times.

In addition to charges of sex abuse of a minor, Magnaye is charged with second degree assault and several sex offenses.
