Museum at Ford’s Theatre closed due to water leak

WASHINGTON — It’s one of D.C.’s most famous landmarks.

But right now, the basement museum of Ford’s Theatre is closed due to flooding.

The National Park Service says it’s due to water leak that has produced an inch of water on the museum floor.

Crews have isolated the source of the leak and stopped the incoming water, but have not yet determined its cause.

It is not yet known when the museum will reopen.

However, no artifacts in the museum are threatened by the water.

Museum curators are on site to monitor humidity levels and other conditions.
