Skyland Town Center is getting DC’s first drive-thru Starbucks

Skyland Town Center in Ward 7 will be home to the first drive-thru Starbucks in the District, as well as the second Chase Bank east of the Anacostia River, after the tenants recently signed leases with the project developers

The new tenants, which signed just a few months Rappaport landed Lidl as the project’s grocery anchor, will join a CVS Pharmacy in the Ward 7 development. Skyland will someday bring up to 500 apartments, 135,000 square feet of retail and 131,300 square feet of medical office space to the intersection of Naylor Road SE and Good Hope Road SE.

Starbucks and Chase are the first stores to sign onto the project since Lidl struck a deal with Skyland’s developers in May, providing a long sought-after replacement for Walmart after the chain spurned the project back in 2016.

The bank will set up shop as part of the first phase of the project, a mixed-use building currently under construction, while Starbucks will have a standalone shop across the street complete with…
