NewsChannel 8 to get a new name starting Tuesday

WASHINGTON — One of the D.C. area’s TV stations is getting a new name.

WJLA announced Monday that their sister cable news station NewsChannel 8 will be known as WJLA 24/7 News starting Tuesday.

The station said in a statement that the renamed station “will feature a highly graphical, richly informative continuous newsfeed” including news headlines, weather forecasts and traffic reports.

The station can be seen on Comcast channels 808 (HD) and 28 (SD), and on Cox channels 1008 (HD) and 8 (SD).
