WASHINGTON — Part of Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax County, Virginia, is set to reopen ahead of schedule, sometime between Oct. 26 and 27.
Va. 123/Chain Bridge Road was closed just north of Fairfax Boulevard in the section between U.S. 29/50 and Interstate 66 in accordance with a Northfax yearlong project.
It was set to reopen in Winter 2018, but according to the City of Fairfax, construction crews will finish the work from 9 p.m. on Oct. 26 to 5 a.m. on Oct. 27.
The closure was part of the Northfax Intersection & Drainage Improvements project. It aims to “increase capacity, improve pedestrian mobility and safety, improve traffic flow, and eliminate flooding in the intersection,” according to the project’s website.
Unexpected conditions, like weather, may alter the reopening date. Refer to the City of Fairfax website for confirmation.
