Sunday, May 29
- The Air Force Memorial hosts an entire day of concerts by Music Celebration International, starting at 9:45 a.m.
- Starting at 11 a.m., guided tours of Arlington National Cemetery will explore the origins of Memorial Day
- This year’s National Memorial Day Concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol is co-hosted by Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise. Performers include Trace Adkins, The Beach Boys, Renee Fleming, this year’s American Idol winner Trent Harmon, and The National Symphony Orchestra. The gates typically open at 5 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m.
- The 2016 Summer Blast Off! concert at Wolf Trap features “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band and ends with fireworks. It all starts at 8 p.m.
Monday, May 30
- Active members of the military and veterans get a free lunch or dinner entree at McCormick & Schmick’s
- Members of the military and veterans eat free with purchase of a beverage at participating Hooters on Memorial Day
- Shoney’s will serve free All American Burgers to all active members of the military and veterans
- There’s a 9 a.m. Memorial Day observance at the National World War II Memorial
- The Falls Church Memorial Day parade and festival starts at 9 a.m.
- The Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade in Rockville begins at 9 a.m.
- There’s a 9 a.m. wreath-laying ceremony and 11 a.m. concert by the Band of America’s Few at the Air Force Memorial
- The Annapolis Memorial Day Parade steps off at 10 a.m.
- At the Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery, there’s a 10 a.m. wreath-laying ceremony followed by cemetery tours starting at 10:45 a.m.
- The Memorial Day parade in Westminster starts at 10 a.m., and will be followed by a memorial service at the Westminster Cemetery
- The National Memorial Day Observance at Arlington National Cemetery begins at 10:30 a.m.
- The Alexandria Memorial Day Jazz Festival will include the U.S. Navy Commodores, Rose Moraes, Dave Kline, Al Williams and the Nitehawks. It starts at 1 p.m.
- There’s a wreath-laying ceremony at 1 p.m. the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
- 2 p.m. is the start time for the National Memorial Day Parade along Constitution Avenue in D.C.
- The Odenton Memorial Day Parade starts at 5 p.m.
