Strasbourg beats Brest in Ligue 1 ahead of PSG’s potential title-decider at Lens

PARIS (AP) — Strasbourg won 2-1 at Brest ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s potentially title-deciding Ligue 1 clash with Lens later on Wednesday.

PSG coach Luis Enrique selected a full-strength team at Stade Bollaert-Delelis even though his side only needed a draw to clinch a fifth consecutive Ligue 1 crown and a record-extending 14th overall.

The match was rescheduled from April 11 by the French league to help titleholder PSG’s ambitions in the Champions League. Although the postponement was strongly contested by Lens, coach Pierre Sage’s side had no say in the matter.

Strasbourg’s game was also rescheduled because of the Alsace-based team’s involvement in the UEFA Conference League, where it lost to Rayo Vallecano in the semifinals.

Defender Valentin Barco and midfielder Sebastian Nanasi scored for Strasbourg either side of a goal from Brest striker Ludovic Ajorque in a lively opening.

Strasbourg will finish the season in eighth place and Brest was 12th heading into the final round of Ligue 1 games on Sunday. ___
