WASHINGTON – Security cameras captured a bright light in the sky on the night of June 30 in South Australia.

The fireball was seen right before midnight, lighting up the night sky.

Earlier this week, Australia’s The Advertiser reported that the fireball had been tracked by the Desert Fireball Network. A spokesperson for DFN said the object “originated from within the solar system, having an orbit around the sun and that it went out almost as far as Mars,” according to The Advertiser.
