Man breaks into Va. woman’s home 3 times in 2 days

WASHINGTON — Prince William County Police are searching for 27-year-old Joshua Barrett from Woodbridge. They say he has broken into a woman’s home three different times over two days and assaulted her.

Thursday, April 27, was the first time Barrett broke into the woman’s Woodbridge home on Talon Eagle Street.

Police said he hit the woman several times, preventing her from leaving. But Barrett managed to get away before police arrived.

After police left the home following the investigation, Barrett entered the house again.

The victim called police, but Barrett was once again able to get away before police returned.

Police said Barrett broke into the woman’s home for a third time around 1:30 a.m. Friday, April 28.

The 23-year-old victim was asleep in her room when Barrett woke her up and smashed one of her phones so she could not call police.

He then went out to the victim’s car and stole some liquor from it. That’s when she called police, but Barrett again fled before they arrived.

Police said Barrett is known by the victim.

He is described as white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing about 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

He is facing three counts of burglary, one count of abduction, one count of grand larceny, two counts of preventing the summoning of law enforcement, two counts of domestic assault and battery and one count of destruction of property.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call the Crime Solvers Tip Line at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
