WASHINGTON — Prince William County officials are working to identify human remains found in a creek bed Monday morning.
Around 11:30 a.m. Monday, officers found human remains while canvassing along the creek bed of Bull Run near the 7500 block of Ben Lomond Park Drive in Manassas.
The remains were transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for examination and identification. Police will release the identity after it is confirmed and next of kin has been notified.
“There is no public threat or need for concern from the surrounding community as this incident does not appear to be random and no foul play is suspected at this time,” police said in a news release Monday afternoon.
