WASHINGTON — A Prince William County police officer is facing domestic assault charges after he was arrested by his colleagues Thursday.
Police responded to a 911 call Sept. 15 from Laurel Ridge Road in Dumfries, Virginia, where a 51-year-old woman said a verbal fight with her boyfriend had escalated.
Officers arrived to find the man she said grabbed her was their colleague, officer Robert Donnan.
He was arrested and charged with domestic assault and battery and has been reassigned to an administrative position as police continue their investigation, Prince William County police said.
