MGM National Harbor pursuing outdoor gaming

MGM National Harbor is looking at moving some of its gaming operations into the great outdoors.

A permit application for commercial contractor JE Richards Inc. to perform “electrical work for outdoor gaming construction drawings” at the casino-resort was submitted Friday to Prince George’s County.

When asked if it was pursuing outdoor gaming, MGM sent the following statement to the Washington Business Journal: “MGM National Harbor is always evaluating our business to ensure we are providing our guests with the best entertainment and gaming experiences. Outdoor gaming is one of those enhancements we have assessed and feel it will be a great addition to our resort.”

MGM declined to comment further on its plans.
