Md. teen charged as adult in stabbing death of mom’s boyfriend

WASHINGTON — A 16-year-old will be charged as an adult in the stabbing death of his mother’s boyfriend Thursday morning in Lanham, Maryland.

Prince George’s County police said Taahir Butler lived in the same house as the victim, Herman Jackson.

Officers responded to their home in the 7000 block of Woodstream Terrace at around 4 a.m. and found the 53-year-old with wounds. He later died at a hospital.

Butler and Jackson had been involved in a dispute, said investigators, who alleged that Butler shot Jackson several times with a BB gun before stabbing him.

The teen confessed to the stabbing, police said, and has been charged with first- and second-degree murder. He’s being held without bond.

Anyone with additional information in the case is asked to call 301-772-4925 or Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477.
