Man charged with murder after fatal shooting inside Md. liquor store

WASHINGTON — A Prince George’s County man is facing murder charges in the fatal shooting of a man during a dispute inside a Forestville liquor store over the weekend.

On the afternoon of Dec. 30, 2017, police responded to a liquor store on Walters Lane just south of Pennsylvania Avenue for reports of a shooting and found 33-year-old Thomas Corry, of Suitland, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency crews transported Corry to a hospital where he died a short time later.

Police said Jajuan Johnson, 26, of District Heights, initiated a dispute with Corry inside the store. He then pulled out a gun and shot Corry, police said. The two men did not know each other, police said.

Johnson fled the scene, but police caught up with him a short time later and arrested him.

He is charged with first- and second-degree murder and related charges. He’s being held at the Department of Corrections without bond.

Anyone with information on the case can call police at 301-772-4925.
