Woman struck, killed on Greenbelt Road

WASHINGTON — A woman was struck and killed on Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt, Maryland, Friday morning.

The Greenbelt police said in a statement that they got a call shortly after 7 a.m. about someone down in the roadway on the westbound side of Greenbelt Road, east of Capitol Drive and north of Greenbelt Park. They found the woman on the right shoulder and pronounced her dead at the scene.

The police said they’re looking for a dark silver or dark gray Toyota Corolla, with a model year probably between 2007 and 2011. They added that there could be undercarriage damage, the passenger-side side mirror is missing and the driver’s-side mirror could have a chrome snap-on covering.

They haven’t released the woman’s name yet.

If you know anything about the case, the police ask you to call them at 301-474-7200.
