WASHINGTON — An 18-year-old man who was fatally shot early Sunday morning in Suitland, Maryland, has been identified as an up-and-coming rapper, NBC Washington reports.
Police found the victim, Douglas Brooks of Suitland — known also as “Swipey” — suffering from a gunshot wound just after 1 a.m. on the 3600 block of Parkway Terrace Drive, Prince George’s County police said in a news release. Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives were still working to identify any suspects or motives, the release said. Police do not believe the shooting was a random crime.
Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call 301-772-4925. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
