Mayweather has a winning weekend without stepping into the ring

WASHINGTON — Boxer Floyd Mayweather reportedly made $112 million for fighting Manny Pacquiao earlier this month, but he had to work for it. Last weekend, he didn’t make nearly as much, but he still had a hefty payday — without risking getting punched in the process.

Mayweather won nearly half a million dollars from the comfort of his home or somewhere like it by placing a variety of bets on the weekend’s sporting events, USA TODAY reports.

The champ bet that the Houston Rockets would beat the money line, and that the Atlanta Hawks would beat the second-half point spread against the Wizards, in Game 6 of their respective NBA playoff series; that the Los Angeles Clippers would beat the second-half spread against the Rockets in Game 7; and that boxer Gennady Golovkin would knock out William Monroe Jr. by the end of the sixth round.

Mayweather gambled a total of $350,000 on the four bets, hit them all, walked away with nearly $850,000, and made sure everyone on Instagram knew about it.
