2018 NFL Week 4 Recap

WASHINGTON — If you like overtime thrillers, quarterback killers and end zone fillers, then wait until you get a load of the NFL Week 4 Recap.

Chiefs 27
Broncos 23 For the second straight season, Patrick Mahomes led a comeback win in Denver, completing 13-of-16 passes (none better than this) for 153 yards and a touchdown in the 4th quarter to erase a 10-point deficit and make his coach’s flattery look legit. This is the first of many “Mahoments” to come for Kansas City fans. (Photo by Justin Edmonds/Getty Images)
Ravens 26
Steelers 14 Baltimore’s record red zone streak ended along with the trend of close games in this rivalry (five of the previous six meetings were decided by one possession), and the Ravens defense made a prime-time statement by finishing the first quarter of the season without allowing a second-half touchdown — but Pittsburgh proved that the “Killers Bs” aren’t worth a damn without Le’Veon Bell. The Steelers offense appears to be in trouble. (AP Photo/Don Wright)

Chargers 29 Were it not for Todd Gurley, Melvin Gordon would probably get more attention as one of the top dual threat RBs in the league. Gordon’s seven receiving touchdowns in the last two seasons is second only to Gurley, and crucial to L.A.’s success. (AP Photo/Jae Hong)

Giants 18 Give the Giants credit: Michael Thomas was held in check after his record-setting start to the season, but that’s little consolation when Alvin Kamara runs wild to lead New Orleans to its third straight win. Now this is the Saints team I expected to see in 2018. (Photo by Al Bello/Getty Images)
GLENDALE, AZ - SEPTEMBER 30: Defensive back Earl Thomas #29 of the Seattle Seahawks gestures as he leaves the field on a cart after being injured during the fourth quarter against the Arizona Cardinals at State Farm Stadium on September 30, 2018 in Glendale, Arizona. Seahawks 20
Cardinals 17 Even though Josh Rosen was the steadiest of the rookie QBs to start Sunday, Arizona is 0-4 for the first time since moving from St. Louis to the desert. Methinks this isn’t the last of the Cardinals’ drought. And if you saw the scene surrounding the Earl Thomas injury, you know exactly why Le’Veon Bell isn’t going to play a down for Pittsburgh this season. The threat of injury in the NFL is real, and it’s not worth it for a proven non-QB to risk it when’s up for a contract extension. (Photo by Norm Hall/Getty Images)

Browns 42
Raiders 45 (OT) Here’s what’s true: Despite a quarterback change, misadventures in kicking and some quirky scheduling, Cleveland really could/should be 4-0. I’m pretty sure that’s what’s going to get Hue Jackson fired. (AP Photo/Ben Margot)

Patriots 38 Is it me or did this game play out exactly like the kick scene in Rush Hour? One day, people will learn: New England’s demise will come, but it won’t come in a September. (Photo by Jim Rogash/Getty Images)

Texans 37
Colts 34 (OT) For the second straight week, the NFL’s longest losing streak comes to a close. Even though Andrew Luck threw for over 450 yards and 4 TDs (only one other QB in NFL history has lost with that line), Indy had a solemn memorial and Adam Vinatieri’s day for the ages, Houston’s 9-game losing skid is over thanks to the ridiculous practice of trying to freeze the kicker and a helluva a 4th down gamble at the end of overtime. Frank Reich should expect a lot of Christmas cards from Houston addresses. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

Eagles 23
Titans 26 (OT) Tell you what … I have no idea what to make of Tennessee’s Aloha Spirit, but it’s got them in first place of a pretty competitive division. Mike Vrabel has to be the early favorite for Coach of the Year. (AP Photo/Mark Zaleski)
GREEN BAY, WI - SEPTEMBER 30: Josh Allen #17 of the Buffalo Bills is sacked by Nick Perry #53 of the Green Bay Packers and Clay Matthews #52 during the second quarter of a game at Lambeau Field on September 30, 2018 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images)
Bills 0
Packers 22 Two things were obvious in Green Bay: Aaron Rodgers is nowhere near himself and Josh Allen is nowhere near good yet. Buffalo lost more yardage in sacks (64) than they gained rushing (58), so don’t be surprised if Minnesota handed them their only win this year. (Photo by Stacy Revere/Getty Images)
ARLINGTON, TX - SEPTEMBER 30: Ezekiel Elliott #21 of the Dallas Cowboys carries the ball against Glover Quin #27 of the Detroit Lions in the fourth quarter at AT&T Stadium on September 30, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images)
Lions 24
Cowboys 26 If Ezekiel Elliott thinks he’s beat up after his career-high 240 scrimmage yards on a whopping 29 touches, just wait until Week 17 — if he makes it that long. He’s the only thing Dallas has going on offense. (Photo by Tom Pennington/Getty Images)
CHICAGO, IL - SEPTEMBER 30: Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky #10 of the Chicago Bears passes the football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first quarter at Soldier Field on September 30, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)
Bucs 10
Bears 48 How long has it been since they’ve had a legit QB in Chicago? Mitchell Trubisky is the first Bears QB to throw 6 TD passes in a game since Johnny Lujack in 1949. If Trubisky is going to mess around and actually be good, Chicago is unbeatable. (Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)

Bengals 37
Falcons 36 Despite Tyler Eifert’s gruesome leg injury and Calvin Ridley’s historic start, Cincinnati is off to their best start since 2007 and have one of the NFL’s best offenses at the quarter mark of the season. But I won’t believe in the Bengals until I see this happen in mid-January. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images)

Vikings 31
Rams 38 In a potential NFC title game preview (a prediction I wish I stuck with but didn’t) between former Redskins, the Vikings got another bad break and Jared Goff stole the show by becoming the first QB to have a 400 yard, 5 TD performance on only three days rest and only the third QB in the Super Bowl era to post a perfect 158.3 QB rating on at least 30 attempts. Good luck stopping this juggernaut. (AP Photo/Mark J. Terrill)
