Winners named for the 2023 Capital ORBIE Awards

The Capital area’s chief information officers and technology leaders joined at JW Marriott Washington D.C. on July 21 for the 2023 Capital ORBIE Awards, hosted by Washington Business Journal.

The keynote speaker and Leadership Award recipient was Aaron Weis, managing director of Google Public Sector.

The Super Global winner was Lauren Knausenberger, CIO for the Department of the Air Force.

The Global Winner was Anne Kottmeier, CIO of Chemonics International.

The Large Enterprise winner was Ghada Ijam, system CIO of the Federal Reserve System.

The Enterprise winner was Judith Apshago, vice president and chief digital officer of Amtrak.

The Large Corporate winner was Judith Conklin, CIO of the Library of Congress.

The Corporate winner was Scott Frost, CIO of 3Pillar Global.

The Healthcare winner was Tim Skeen, executive vice president and CIO of Sentara Health.
