Viewpoint: Why I have much gratitude, and a gripe, as Washington Business Journal publisher

This is another column about gratitude — with just a little bit of attitude.  

I don’t take the hard work of the Business Journal staff for granted, and it gets under my skin when others do.  

This past week alone, my packed thank-you list includes Special Projects Editor Caitlin Lyons for corralling 40 profiles (and photos) for our annual 40 Under 40 celebration and publication and nailing down this year’s class of Women Who Mean Business. I need to tell Sara Gilgore, who delivered a deep conversation with the new CEO of Novavax while nine months pregnant, just how much I appreciate her steadfast ownership of the beat. Tristan Navera once again provided invaluable insight into how the FBI will decide its future headquarters — details I know I’m not the only one grateful to have. I’m never short of awe or respect for Events Coordinator Tori Moses, who in addition to a full slate of legacy events, now juggles multiple private dinners for CEOs to introduce them to our readers…
