Nadia Subaran

Nadia Subaran knows how to get along with family.

Subaran co-founded boutique kitchen renovation firm Aidan Design with her husband in 2001, motivated by a love of a good aesthetic. Her seven-person firm, based in Silver Spring, works many complex kitchen renovation projects in the region — a job that’s become much more important in the Covid era as more people spend time at home.

Subaran pulls from her own considerable time spent in kitchens over the years, growing up in a big Rockville family that celebrated a love of cooking. The Montgomery County native took time for school in New York but boomeranged back, driven, she says, by a love of good design and a local flair for a modern retake on history.

In addition to her work with Aidan Design, Subaran has also lent her expertise to Kohler’s Designer Advisory Council and Signature Kitchen Suites’ Design Council since 2018, as well as Beko Home Appliances’ newly formed, 12-person Design Council since July.
