WASHINGTON — A tree fell onto a vehicle Thursday morning, causing some traffic delays for D.C. commuters.

A tree fell onto a vehicle on the westbound lanes of Constitution Avenue. Officials closed westbound Constitution Avenue between 17th and 19th streets at about 7 a.m. to clear the tree and move the vehicle.

All lanes reopened by 9 a.m.

Officials have not said what caused the tree to fall, although storms went through the area overnight causing damage and power outages.

Officials say no one was injured.
