Biking with Baby: A how-to from parents who do

WASHINGTON – As a parent who loves biking, you probably wish you could do it more often.

But it’s impossible to expect toddlers to tool along beside you, even for a brief weekend outing, right?

Maybe not.

This weekend, a parents group “Kidical Mass DC,” the D.C. Department of Transportation and the Washington Area Bicyclist Association will hold “The ABCs of Family Biking.” The event will feature a “show and tell” from biking parents who can offer tips, tricks and tools to make everything from the recreational ride to the daily commute possible.

The DDOT “Safe Routes To School Program” can help you map out the best and safest way for your child to two-wheel it to school. There will also be a “Swap or Sell” station for parents to get a break on the price of equipment they need to get started.

The event will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m, Sunday, April 28 in the parking lot behind Capitol Hill Montessori School at Logan, 215 G Street NE.

More information is available at the Kidical Mass DC blog.
