WASHINGTON – Newsflash: Kids can visit the Newseum for free this summer.

From July 1 through Labor Day (Sept. 3), visitors age 18 and younger can get in free with a paid adult admission, senior admission or a Newseum membership.

The offer extends to as many as six kids.

Though Washington is known for its free museums, youth tickets to Newseum are regularly $12.95. Admission for adults is $21.95. Both tickets are good for two consecutive days.

The “Summer Fun Deal,” sponsored by WTOP, opens Sunday with a variety of events:

  • Caricature artists and face painters
  • A scavenger hunt with prizes
  • Storytellers in the Knight TV studio
  • The News Hound

The Newseum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.
