Police look for suspect in attempted kidnapping of teen in Montgomery Co.

WASHINGTON — Montgomery County Police are looking for a male suspect who attempted to kidnap a 13-year-old girl Friday evening in Germantown, Maryland.

According to police, the girl was returning home from the 7-Eleven on 12861 Clopper Road. As she was walking north on Mateny Road, a Hispanic male approached her in a white vehicle, possibly a smaller SUV, said police.

The man asked the girl if she needed a ride. When the girl said no, the man exited the car, approached the girl and grabbed and pulled her arm.

The girl was able to flee from the suspect and ran home.

The victim said the man was thin (possibly weighing around 160 pounds), around 5 feet 10 inches and possibly in his 30s.

The suspect was clean shaven, had a thick Hispanic accent and was last seen wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.

The girl also said a man who was walking a dog at the time, witnessed the crime and told the suspect to stop assaulting the girl.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should contact Montgomery County Police at 301-279-8000.
