Miguel Alfredo Flores, a 47-year-old from Gaithersburg and head soccer coach for The Academia De Futbol Salvadorena, engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a girl during the summer of 2015, according to information Montgomery County police released Thursday. The victim was 7 years old at the time.

Police say the contact happened on multiple occasions during soccer practices that summer at the Centerway Park soccer field in Montgomery Village.

Police arrested Flores while he was at Centerway Park Wednesday. He is charged with one count of sexual abuse of a minor and one count of third-degree sex offense.

Child Protective Services told police detectives in late March about the allegations.

Detectives say they believe there may be additional victims who have had contact with Flores. Anyone with information regarding inappropriate contact involving Flores can contact the Special Victims Investigations Division at 240-773-5400.
