Montgomery Co. fire caused $75K damage; arson suspected

WASHINGTON — A fire at a Clarksburg, Maryland, town house caused $75,000 in damages and even spread to an adjacent home early Monday morning, Montgomery County fire officials said.

The fire broke out at 22663 Majestic Elm Court a bit before 6 a.m. Monday, and officials found a spray-painted message in the driveway, NBC Washington reported. Firefighters put out the blaze, and no one was injured.

Officials suspect that the fire was intentionally set, but there have not been any arrests made in connection to this case. They encourage anyone with information on this fire to call the arson tip line at (240) 777-2263.
