WASHINGTON — A man was shot at a popular party spot in Takoma Park, Maryland early Friday morning, and police say it may be gang-related.
The Takoma Park police were called at about 1:30 a.m. to the Econolodge on New Hampshire Avenue after getting reports of gunshots in the area. When they arrived, police say, they saw a large group of people disperse.
While officers were at the hotel, another report came in about someone who walked into an area hospital with a gunshot wound to the lower torso. The police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
Takoma Park Police Capt. Tyrone Collington says officers at the hotel went room by room searching for a shooter, but couldn’t find one.
