It’s official: Northern Virginia and New York City will both become home to Amazon’s long-anticipated second headquarters, the digital giant announced Tuesday, concluding a more-than-yearlong search for its “HQ2.”

The National Museum of Natural History‘s new “Sea Monsters Unearthed: Life in Angola’s Ancient Seas” exhibit introduces visitors to never-before-seen fossils of ferocious predators that populated the seas of the South Atlantic millions of years ago, during the Cretaceous period.
This creature was specialized to eat hard shelled prey such as giant oysters.

Icy roads caused a plethora of traffic troubles throughout the D.C. area Friday morning, after slush from Thursday’s wintry mix refroze and encased many roads in sheets of ice.
Icy overpasses on Gloucester Parkway in Ashburn are causing fenderbenders Friday morning. Several overpasses are frozen over, reports WTOP’s Neal Augenstein.
