ROCKVILLE, Md. – Sure, you’ve tracked the winners of the Oscars and the Golden Globes, but award season isn’t over yet. And with all the snow we’ve had this season, competition for the Golden Shovel Award could be fierce.
The Golden Shovel is an award that Montgomery County Council member Nancy Floreen gives to residents who go above
and beyond to make sure the sidewalks in the neighborhoods where they live are passable after the snow stops falling.
For the second year in a row, Floreen is seeking nominations and will give out the award in April 1 — maybe by then we’ll see the last of the white stuff.
Nominations are being taken by Floreen’s office until March 31, 2015.
