BEL AIR, Md. (AP) — Harford County emergency officials say a paramedic was killed when he was struck by a utility vehicle as it slid down a driveway during a call.
The Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association said on its Facebook page that it happened about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. Officials say a vehicle ran off a road in Bel Air into an embankment. Authorities say the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company brought a 4-wheel drive vehicle to help paramedics get to the patient in the snowy conditions.
Officials say the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado started down a driveway at the scene of the crash. EMS officials say the utility vehicle began to slide and hit a paramedic, who died at a hospital.
The Harford County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
