Metro to curtail weekend work to accommodate Redskins fans

WASHINGTON — Metro is going to make it a little easier to get to and from the Redskins’ playoff game Sunday.

Metro has announced that, while rebuilding work will affect service on all six lines this weekend, work on the Orange, Blue and Silver lines will end at noon on Sunday.

At that point, the three lines will resume normal weekend service — every 15 minutes — and Silver Line trains will run between Wiehle-Reston East and Largo Town Center.

The game starts at 4:40 p.m. The closest Metro stops to FedEx Field, the Redskins’ stadium, are Largo Town Center, on the Blue and Silver lines, and Landover, on the Orange Line.
